Micam mirrors GDS move and brings dates forward

19/09/2013
The September edition of Micam attracted 38,621 visitors over the whole event. This represents a fall of almost 6% compared to the numbers for September 2012 but the Italian footwear manufacturers’ association, Assocalzaturifici, said it was pleased by a 1% increase in the number of visitors from outside Italy, which this time reached 20,802.

Assocalzaturifici president, Cleto Sagripanti, said the figures show that Italian footwear exports remain the sector’s strong point and that Micam is still a point of reference for international buyers.

And, mirroring a move made recently by rival exhibition, GDS, he said Micam would bring its dates forward in the calendar next year, starting the autumn edition on August 31.
